How it works
We're upfront: we're an introduction service, not contractors, and suppliers may pay us for introductions. About us.
Why rural homes are different
- Off the gas grid. In Northern Ireland, 62.5% of households (nearly two-thirds) had oil central heating in 2021 (NISRA). In Wales 7.8% of homes used oil alone, and 35.3% in Ceredigion (ONS Census 2021). In very remote rural mainland Scotland the figure is about 35% (Rural Exchange).
- Private water. England alone had 34,859 private water supplies in 2024, serving about 849,800 people (DWI).
- Grants. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers £7,500 towards a heat pump in England and Wales (GOV.UK), and Home Energy Scotland adds a rural uplift (Home Energy Scotland). See heat pump grants.
